Security forces kill infiltrator in J-K

Earlier on Wednesday, the alert troops of White Knight Corps of the Indian army conducted a joint search Operation Sherikalan in Gen Area Poonch, and recovered approx 4 kg of explosives. They have been destroyed in situ.

The White Knight Corps said the movement of two terrorists was detected in the general area of Jhangar in Nowshera along the LoC at around 3 pm today after intelligence agencies shared credible inputs.

Madhya Pradesh Congress president Jitu Patwari on Tuesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of having an anti-tribal mindset and said that the Congress party would approach the Supreme Court against the decision to declare the election of Congress leader Mukesh Malhotra from Vijaypur Assembly constituency "null and void".

A single bench of Justice G S Ahluwalia further declared the runner-up BJP candidate, Ramniwas Rawat, as the "elected MLA" from the seat.

"Mamata didi allocated Rs 80 crore for Science and technology, through which research and development takes place...for Madrasas, she has allotted Rs 5,700 crore. I have come to ask the TMC today, what is your agenda? They are not concerned about our sons and daughters. They are only concerned about Madrasas. This appeasement cannot develop Bengal," Shah said while addressing a gathering at the 'Parivartan Yatra Sabha' in Mathurapur.

"The Parivartan Yatras have been initiated to bring about change in West Bengal. Yesterday, Mamata didi said that this is a Yatra to gain power. Mamata didi, by the word 'Parivartan' (change), we do not mean to change the Chief Minister. The people of Bengal will change it (chief minister). But the meaning of 'Parivartan' is to make Bengal free from infiltration. It is meant to make Bengal corruption-free. 'Parivartan' means to throw away the corrupt TMC government and make the BJP government," Shah said while addressing a gathering in Mathurapur.

"Mamata Didi says that sisters and daughters should not go out. I ask, Didi, in Bengal, where the culture and civilisation are so developed, are you telling the daughters to stay safe inside their homes? You failed to hear the cries of the daughters of Bengal, and you didn't avenge their insult. Now, every brother of Bengal will avenge the insult of the mother and the daughter of Bengal," he said.

"The BJP's Parivartan Yatra begins today across West Bengal. The people of West Bengal have made up their minds to change this corrupt, atrocious, and infiltration-supporting government... This is India, and only Indian citizens are allowed to vote here. We cannot allow illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators to cast votes in this election," he said.

Maharashtra Samajwadi Party president, Abu Asim Azmi, while talking to the media, said, " I have written a letter to the Chief Minister urging him to grant time off to employees during Ramzan, as the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have already done in their states. It has been some time since we submitted this request to the government, but we have not received any response yet."

The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) wrote to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, seeking urgent intervention over alleged harassment and discrimination faced by Kashmiri students at the Government College of Nursing in Kurnool.
