SDRF Uttarakhand police honoured by the U.S. Embassy for successful rescue missions

The U.S. Embassy honoured SDRF Uttarakhand Police with a memento and a certificate of appreciation in recognition of their efforts in rescue missions.

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], December 23 (ANI): The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) unit of the Uttarakhand Police has earned international recognition for its exemplary work in disaster management and rescue operations.
Under the leadership of Commandant SDRF Arpan Yaduvanshi, the SDRF has brought pride to the state and the Uttarakhand Police worldwide through its courageous, swift, and humane rescue missions.
According to a release, the U.S. Embassy honoured SDRF Uttarakhand Police with a memento and a certificate of appreciation in recognition of these efforts.
This honour was conferred for the safe and successful rescue of American tourists, along with other foreign nationals, who were stranded in difficult and adverse conditions while travelling in Uttarakhand.
Notable rescue operations included missions involving two foreign women trekkers stranded on Mount Chaukhamba in Chamoli district, a foreign trekker trapped in the Vasudhara area of Badrinath, and several rescue operations carried out in remote and high-altitude Himalayan regions such as Gangotri.
These operations were effectively planned, coordinated, and guided under the leadership of Commandant SDRF Arpan Yaduvanshi, ensuring that all missions were conducted safely, systematically, and within a timely framework.
The memento and certificate of appreciation awarded by the U.S. Embassy were received by Commandant SDRF Arpan Yaduvanshi, as per the release.
This honour stands as a testament to the dedication of SDRF Uttarakhand Police, who remain constantly devoted to public service with the resolve of "Service, Safety, and Dedication" in every situation.
In the geographically sensitive state of Uttarakhand, SDRF has carried out numerous life-saving operations for domestic and international tourists stranded in mountainous regions, glaciers, rivers, and trekking routes through prompt decision-making, precise strategies, and efficient use of resources.
An SDRF spokesperson stated that this international recognition not only reflects the efficiency and credibility of SDRF Uttarakhand Police but also further strengthens its robust, humane, and professional identity on the global stage (manch).
