SC Garg named Finance Secretary

New Delhi [India], Mar 8 (ANI): Department of Economic Affairs Secretary Subhash Chandra Garg was on Friday appointed as the new Finance Secretary.

New Delhi [India], Mar 8 (ANI): Department of Economic Affairs Secretary Subhash Chandra Garg was on Friday appointed as the new Finance Secretary.
"The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved designating Subhash Chandra Garg, IAS (RJ:1983) Secretary, Department of economics Affairs, Ministry of Finance as Finance Secretary," a government order said. 
Garg would replace Ajay Narayan Jha, who got superannuated on February 28.
The Centre had extended Jha's term by a month to February 28. He had also been named a member of the 15th Finance Commission. (ANI)
