SC directs Rajasthan govt officials to stop illegal sand mining

Justice Girish Kathpalia dismissed the bail plea after considering the testimony of Nidhi, who was riding pillion on the scooter being driven by the deceased at the time of the incident, as well as CCTV footage of the incident.

A division bench of Justices Prathiba M Singh and Vikas Mahajan passed the order while hearing Suse's appeal against the August 1 order of the Patiala House Court, which had rejected his interim bail plea on medical grounds.

Justice G K Ilanthiraiyan reserved the order after hearing Senior Advocate V Raghavachari, appearing for Sethupathi, who led arguments on the application.

The Rouse Avenue court on Thursday reserved an order on the bail plea of Satish Chander Vashisht, former Chief Engineer of Delhi Jal Board (DJB). He has been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) in the DJB STP Tender scam case.

The All India Organisation of Chemists & Druggists (AIOCD) has urged the Government to reconsider the proposal to make CCTV cameras, DVR/NVR systems and related surveillance infrastructure mandatory at every pharmacy and medical shop across the country.
