SC asks Amrapali to hand over all documents to auditors

New Delhi [India], Oct 26 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Friday asked the statutory auditors of Amrapali real estate company to hand over all the documents to the apex court-appointed forensic auditors in a day and fixed the matter for further hearing on Wednesday.
The apex court also expressed its displeasure over the way the real estate company was not handing over all the documents to the forensic auditors.
A division bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Arun Mishra and also comprising Justice Uday Umesh Lalit, said, "You first hand over all the documents of the company to the forensic auditors."
The apex court also asked the company to give all the bank statements of its 46 companies and entire information of bank accounts and transactions made, since 2008. It also ordered for surrendering of all the laptops and computers used in the banking and all kinds of financial transactions.
During today's hearing, Amrapali's Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chandra Wadhwa also submitted to the apex court about the financial transactions in the company.
Following the submission, the apex court warned the Amrapali office bearer to be ready to face consequences if any information shared is found wrong.
"If later, it is found that you have given any wrong and incorrect information to us, please be ready to face the consequences," the bench remarked.
The apex court also ordered for the continuation of police-supervised stay of Amrapali's Chief Managing Director and other two directors till further orders.
During the last hearing of the case on Wednesday, the Supreme Court had asked two forensic auditors to file a detailed status report by today regarding their progress in the Amrapali case. (ANI)
