New Delhi [India], Dec 3 (ANI): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday filed a charge sheet against Delhi minister Satyendra Jain and his wife Poonam in connection with an alleged disproportionate assets case.
Along with the Delhi Minister, the CBI's charge sheet mentioned names of his business associates Ajeet Prasad Jain, Vaibhav Jain, Sunil Jain, and Ayush Jain.
The charge-sheet was filed by the CBI in Delhi's Patiala House Court.
Satyendra and Poonam Jain ran a firm named M/S JJ Ideal Estate Pvt Ltd. The investigation has revealed that Jain and his family had a stake and shareholding in Prayas Info Pvt Ltd, Metalimpex Pvt Ltd, Akainchan Developers Pvt Ltd, and Mangala Yatan Projects Pvt Ltd.
Jain was the director in all these companies except Mangala Yatan. He resigned from the directorship of other three companies before the elections in 2013. His family members continued to be shareholders in all the three companies.
The investigation has further revealed that the three companies - Prayas, Mangal Yatna, and Akainchan- have received Rs 1.53 crore as accommodation entries from Kolkata-based shell companies.
Satyendra and Vaibhav allegedly sent money to a Kolkata-based hawala operator Rajendra Bansal, who, in turn, provided accommodation entries in the form of share application money in the said four companies till 2016.
The probe further revealed the active role of Poonam Jain.
After registering the case, the CBI had conducted searches at four places, including residence and company office on August 25, 2017. (ANI)
