Saputara Megh Malhar Parva 2024: CM Bhupendra Patel to inaugurate month-long annual monsoon festival tomorrow

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will inaugurate the Saputara Megh Malhar Parva 2024, organised by the Department of Tourism and Gujarat Tourism, to promote local employment and tourism at Saputara, the state's only hill station, on Monday.

Dang (Gujarat) [India], July 28 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will inaugurate the Saputara Megh Malhar Parva 2024, organised by the Department of Tourism and Gujarat Tourism, to promote local employment and tourism at Saputara, the state's only hill station, on Monday.
The month-long Megh Malhar Parva organizes programs showcasing indigenous cultures of Dang as well as the 'Rain Run Marathon', according to a statement from the Gujarat government.
During the monsoon festival, tourists will get to enjoy a view of 18 major sightseeing spots and the natural beauty of Saputara.
Bhupendra Patel will go on a one-day visit to the Dang district on Monday.
The Monsoon Festival has been started since 2009 under the inspiration and direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The monsoon festival has been grandly organized at Saputara for one month from July 29 to August 28, 2024.
Scheduled at Boat House Ground, Saputara, the festival will start on July 29 with a colourful parade in front of the Tourism Corporation's Toran Hotel.
The parade will feature local musical instruments Dang, fun characters, characters in different costumes, Dangi tribal dance and several performances.
After the colourful parade, a cultural program is organized in the dome prepared near Saputara lake.
At the end of this program, the Chief Minister will flag off the 'Rain Run Marathon' near Saputara Circle.
In addition, various cultural programs will be organized at the main dome of the program on Friday-Saturday-Sunday-public holidays and in the evening at Saputara Main Circle and Governor's Hill to familiarize tourists with the local culture of Dang and also provide more employment to local artists.
A special Dahi-Handi program will also be organized on the next Janmashtami day.
During the monsoon festival, tourists will get to enjoy around 18 major attractions around Saputara, including Eco Tourism Camp Site-Mahal, Aquarium, Eco Point, Gandharvapur Artist Village, Gira Falls, Governor's Hill, Hygarh Fort, Madhmakhi Centre, Museums, Nageshwar Mahadev Temple. , Purna Sanctuary, Rose Garden, Saputara Lake, Saputara Tribal Museum, Step Garden, Sunrise Point, Sunset Point and the famous Vansada National Park. Along with this, papercraft workshops and archery practice sessions, handicrafts and photography exhibitions will also attract tourists.
Saputara's pleasant atmosphere and natural beauty have always been the first choice of tourists.
As a result of the Monsoon Festival organized by the State Government Tourism Corporation, the number of tourists coming here is gradually increasing.
The influx of tourists to the Saputara Festival has resulted in increased sources of income along with employment in Dang and its surrounding areas thus improving the standard of living.
Saputara, also known as the Cherapunji of Gujarat, receives an average of 255 cm of monsoon rain every year, so that the region's natural forests thrive in abundance, attracting tourists from all over the state.
It is situated at an altitude of 3,000 feet. Saputara has been developed by Gujarat Tourism as a planned hill station offering facilities like a guesthouse, gardens, swimming pool, boat club, auditorium, ropeway and museum. (ANI)
