Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) [India], September 7 (ANI): Days after Tamil Nadu Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s remarks on 'Sanatan Dharma' sparked a nationwide row, Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Thursday said 'Sanatan Dharma' is eternal and no one has yet been born on Earth who can destroy it.
Tomar said, “Opposing Sanatan Dharma is baseless. These people are of corrupt mentality. Sanatan Dharma is eternal, it is infinite. Nobody has yet been born on Earth who can destroy it.”
Earlier, DMK leader Udhayanidhi's remark on 'Sanatana Dharma' sparked massive controversy across the nation with several BJP leaders and Hindu priests strongly criticising his statement.
Meanwhile, talking about the upcoming G-20 summit which is scheduled to be held in New Delhi on September 9-10, Tomar said that it was a matter of pride for every Indian to have the presidency of the G-20.
“It is a matter of pride for every Indian to have the presidency of the G-20. We all are happy that under the leadership of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s reputation is increasing day by day at the global forums,” Tomar said.
"It is a big occasion for India that all the presidents and prime ministers across the globe come to India and participate in G20 Summit. He welcomes everyone on this occasion," he added.
Delhi is gearing up for the 18th G20 Summit. It will be a culmination of all the G20 processes and meetings held throughout the year among ministers, senior officials, and civil societies.
India assumed the G20 presidency on December 1 last year and about 200 meetings related to G20 were organized in 60 cities across the country.(ANI)
