"Samajwadi Party will bring historic change in Kannauj," says Akhilesh Yadav

Kannauj (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 25 (ANI): Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav on Friday launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government, accusing it of stalling development in Kannauj and undermining institutions of key like education and health.
Addressing the gathering, Yadav said, "Kannauj and its development will happen on a large scale in the coming times. For nine years, the Bharatiya Janata Party has been pushing back the development of Kannauj. It may have done some work just for name's sake. But the basic work that had started in Kannauj has been stopped by the Bharatiya Janata Party government."
He assured the residents of Kannauj that Samajwadi Party would focus on reviving halted projects. "While they have elected me and given me the opportunity to serve them, in the coming times, by forming a Samajwadi government, the Samajwadi people will bring about historic development in Kannauj," he added.
Highlighting the importance of education, Yadav said, "If there is any most important link of development, then it is education. The people of the Bharatiya Janata Party are attacking that education and that too where is primary education, basic education. In the last election, we used to say that the constitution is in danger. Right to Education is a law under the Constitution, in which everyone has the right to be educated."
The SP chief, Akhilesh Yadav, called upon party workers and educated youth to take responsibility for educating village children whose schools were being shut. "We socialist people will together run PDS schools and work to educate the children," he said.
Yadav also raised issues of corruption and law and order, citing an incident involving a BJP minister. "Right near where you and I are sitting, the minister and all his members had to sit on a dharna in the police station last night," he said, adding, "If the most respected people in this government are not being heard, then how will the poor be heard?"
He claimed that in many areas, even police personnel were missing, hinting at a governance failure. "It has been heard that the police have also disappeared, they have been kidnapped, and there is no information about what has happened. The police is missing in the government."
Accusing the BJP of hypocrisy, Yadav said, "People of Bharatiya Janata Party are fake Hindus. If they were real Hindus, they would have compensated the families of those who lost their lives in Kumbh, but they did not compensate them. Some money was sent through the police."
He further alleged manipulation in the electoral rolls. "We had taken out eighteen thousand votes with affidavits, which they had deleted, especially of the PDA family. We got affidavits and complained," Yadav claimed.
Criticising a deputy Chief Minister's remarks, Yadav said, "Their minister is saying, if there is no electricity, go to the temple, ring the bell, do puja or take the name of God. So we will all take the name of God so that this government goes, only then there will be electricity."
He called out the BJP's alleged attempts to tarnish the SP by calling it 'Nawazwadi'. Responding, Yadav referred to the party's history: "The first national president and the first Prime Minister, the one who proposed their name was a five-time Nawaji. The national conference of the Bharatiya Janata Party was held in Mumbai. The money spent on organising that formation was found out by the people of the family of a very big neighbouring country."
Yadav also flagged the condition of health services in Kannauj. "There is no medicine, no treatment anywhere. Your medical college is where cancer is treated. For these four diseases heart, cancer, kidney, liver--you neither have to go to Delhi, nor Mumbai, your treatment is done here."
He added by expressing confidence in the public's verdict in the upcoming elections. "The public is ready to settle accounts with them. The public will answer that they have stopped the development of Kannauj, increased unemployment, increased inflation, and increased corruption," he said.
"While they have elected me and given me the opportunity to serve them, in the coming times, by forming a Samajwadi government, the Samajwadi people will bring about historic development in Kannauj," Yadav reiterated. (ANI)
