Rajkot (Gujarat) [India], January 11 (ANI): High Commissioner of Rwanda Jacqueline Mukangira congratulated the organisers of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference and stated that Rwanda and India share harmonious bilateral relations. She recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Rwanda in 2018, during which he gifted 200 Gir cows to needy families, and expressed gratitude for this gesture, the Chief Minister's Office said in a press release.
Mukangira highlighted that the President of Rwanda has visited India five times and also participated in the Vibrant Gujarat Summit in 2017. She emphasised that the leadership of both nations has made bilateral relations strategically significant.
Mukangira described Rwanda as a rapidly developing country with a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption. She noted that Rwanda's economy grew at a rate of 11.8 per cent in the quarter of 2025. She further mentioned that Rwanda ranked first across Africa in the World Bank's 2024 report on the Ease of Doing Business category, reflecting administrative transparency.
She added that India is Rwanda's second-largest foreign investor and trading partner, with relations between the two countries continuing to grow. She also announced that Indian nationals are eligible for a visa-on-arrival valid for one month.
Ambassador of Ukraine Oleksandr Polischuk remarked that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has moved from being a national leader to playing a very important role as a global leader. Expressing joy at participating in the Vibrant Gujarat Summit for the sixth time, he praised the Prime Minister's efforts to establish peace in his own country as well.
He stated that after the war, Ukraine's reconstruction offers significant opportunities for Indian companies in sectors such as energy, logistics, construction, industry, agriculture, and IT. He expressed hope that Indian companies would participate in the Ukraine Reconstruction Conference scheduled to be held in Poland later this year.
Polischuk highlighted the long history of successful cooperation between India and Ukraine in traditional sectors such as grain, pharmaceutical products, and oil, which continue to strengthen Ukraine's economy.
He described Prime Minister Modi as an outstanding leader and appreciated the efforts of the Gujarat Government under the leadership of Chief Minister  Bhupendrabhai Patel. He concluded by saying that Ukraine feels proud to be a partner in a global event like Vibrant Gujarat.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) for Saurashtra and Kutch, describing the region as the "anchor region" of India's growth and calling it the right time for global investors to invest in the area. (ANI)
