Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) [India], June 21 (ANI): Jana Sena Party leader Bolisetti Satyanarayana has alleged that bureaucrats serving as "slaves" to former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Jagan Mohan Reddy permitted the "illegal" construction of the Rushikonda palace in Visakhapatnam.
Jana Sena Party which is an alliance partner of the TDP-led government in Andhra Pradesh has demanded that state government take action on the officials who had permitted the construction of Rushikonda palace.
Speaking to ANI Satyanarayana said, "If the officers were honest, palace construction wouldn't have happened. Public servants like IAS, IPS and IFS officers are to protect public money but these officers became slaves for political parties... Those officers who granted permission should be punished and the state government should suspend them immediately."
"I request all the government officers and bureaucrats not to cooperate with any illegal activities, including my alliance party government led by CM Chandrababu Naidu, otherwise, officers will be behind bars," he said.
The Jana Sena party official spokesperson and General Secretary stated that former chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy wanted to rule the government "like a king" and build something very lavish.
"Dubai king also feels that Jagan has a more lavish home than them. They (Jagan) said that they were going to spend Rs 200 crore, but landed at Rs 500 crore. The palace was constructed like a private building, no one was allowed to go inside. Police blocked all the roads to the Rushikonda while Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu tried to go inside to check it.
Earlier, Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) in a clarification over the controversy over the Rushikonda palace claimed that it was a government asset rather than private properties of Jagan Mohan Reddy and can be used by the Prime Minister and President during their visit to the State
Responding to the same Satyanarayana said that the explanation could have been given prior to the building being constructed and not now. "Why all those were kept hidden till today. why are they saying this now? What they did during construction in their government. What is the reason for maintaining secrecy? Why shouldn't they have told to the people?
Satyanarayana further suggested that the state government should recover money from Jagan Mohan Reddy, turn the place into a public monument and allow for all rich and poor to visit it. (ANI)
