RSS condoles demise of former Bihar Deputy CM Sushil Modi; says lost a "skilled political leader"

New Delhi [India], May 14 (ANI): The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) condoled the demise of former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Tuesday and said that the country has lost a skilled political leader, who led an ideal example of principled integrity and transparency in public life.
Taking to its social media handle, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) paid tribute to the late leader and posted a message expressing grief.
"The sudden demise of former Deputy Chief Minister and Member of Parliament of Bihar, Shri Sushil Kumar Modi, has caused immense grief. At this time, our thoughts are with his family and countless friends and admirers," said the post by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat and General Secretary, Dattatreya Hosabale.
"Sushil ji, a loyal volunteer of the Sangh and National General Secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, used to worry about the whole country, especially Bihar. With his demise, we have lost an awakened social worker and a skilled political leader. He was an ideal example of principled integrity and transparency in public life," it added.
The RSS also expressed their condolences to the leader's family and prayed to God to give them strength to bear the grief and grant salvation to the departed soul.
Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi passed away on Monday after battling cancer for the past seven months.
President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah among others condoled the demise of the veteran BJP leader and former deputy chief minister of Bihar Sushil Kumar Modi, who passed away at age 72.
Prime Minister Modi said he is "deeply saddened" by the untimely demise of his friend for decades.
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar also said that Sushil Modi's demise is a huge loss to the nation's socio-political landscape.
Home Minister Amit Shah said with the demise of Sushil Modi, Bihar has lost a "great pioneer of politics forever."
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also condoled the demise of the Bihar BJP leader and said that his long public life was dedicated to the service of the people and the welfare of the poor.
BJP national president JP Nadda also posted on X and said that Sushil Modi's entire life was dedicated to Bihar.
The last rites of the former Rajya Sabha MP will be performed later in the day.
On April 3, this year, Sushil Modi revealed he was suffering from cancer and requested the BJP to relieve him of assignments related to the Lok Sabha elections.
Sushil Modi held various positions in his three-decade-long political career. He served as MLA, MLC and member of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. He served as the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar from 2005 to 2013 and again from 2017 to 2020. (ANI)
