Agartala (Tripura) [India], May 22 (ANI): Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat is set to embark on a week-long visit to Tripura, beginning May 23.
Bhagwat will arrive in Agartala on an afternoon flight and is scheduled to return on May 28 by a 9 am flight. During his stay, he will be based at Khairpur Seva Dham, where a series of special events are planned.
"We all know that in RSS, for every state or combining two or more states, we organize "Varga", meaning training camps. The 8 North-Eastern states are combined to form a 'Shetra' or region. In our country, we have 14 Shetras. In these 14 Shetras, the Varga is also called Karyakarta Bikash Varga. And for the 1st time, this kind of Varga is going to be organised in Tripura. Earlier this used to happen in Assam. For this reason, Mohan Bhagwat will be coming and staying in Tripura," Tapash Roy, RSS Karyakarta told ANI.
"He will be coming on the 23rd and will stay here for 3 days and leave on the 27th of May. He is here to grace all the students of Barga with his ideology and direction. Almost 154 participants will be coming to this training from the whole Northeast states," he added.
Bhagwat's visit comes in the wake of the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, sparking widespread curiosity about the purpose of his extended stay in the state.
The RSS leadership, along with members of the ruling party, including several cabinet ministers and MLAs, are expected to meet and discuss with him during his visit.
Upon arrival at Agartala Airport, Bhagwat will head straight to Khayerpur Seva Dham, where he will spend five days and nights.
The state RSS has already begun extensive preparations for his visit, ensuring that everything is in place for the events at Seva Dham. In addition, the state police have been instructed to remain vigilant and provide security for the RSS chief throughout his stay.
Sources indicate that Bhagwat's visit to Seva Dham is centred around a specific program organized by the RSS. This visit is particularly significant as it takes place during the final phase before the Lok Sabha elections, adding a layer of importance and anticipation to his engagements in the state.
The itinerary for Bhagwat's visit includes interactions with state RSS leaders and key figures from the ruling party. These discussions are expected to cover a range of topics, potentially including the RSS's role and strategy in the region post-election.
As preparations continue, the state awaits the arrival of one of the most prominent figures in the RSS, with many speculating on the potential implications and outcomes of this high-profile visit. (ANI)
