Rs 428k cr investment approved in UP Investors Summit: Yogi

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Feb. 22 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday lauded the state Investors Summit and said that an investment of Rs 4,28,000 crore was approved.

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Feb. 22 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday lauded the state Investors Summit and said that an investment of Rs 4,28,000 crore was approved.

The two-day event was attended by more than 5,000 delegates from around the world and over 100 speakers had addressed the gathering.

"This summit is a unique initiative which will bring Uttar Pradesh to the national front. Investment of Rs 4,28,000 crore hase been approved in the summit," Adityanath said while addressing a gathering here.

"I am pleased to announce that we have the proposal of further investment of Rs 4 lakh crore in the state," he added.

The summit is an attempt to establish Uttar Pradesh among the developed states and its focus areas include food processing, dairy, handloom and textile, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Information Technology (IT), start-ups, electronic manufacturing, films, tourism and civil aviation.

Earlier in the day, Amplus Energy Solutions signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Uttar Pradesh (UP) government to set up a solar power with a capacity of 500 megawatts (MW) in the state, subject to an investment of Rs 2,200 crore over the next five years.

Meanwhile, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley termed urban infrastructure as an "engine of growth", adding that it is crucial for investment in the state of Uttar Pradesh. (ANI)
