Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's son Nishant Kumar on Sunday formally joined the JD(U) and marked an unprecedented shift in Bihar politics.

Apart from Nitish Kumar, other NDA candidates, including Upendra Kushwaha and Bihar BJP chief Nitin Nabin, also filed their nominations for the Upper House.

The development comes following Nitish Kumar's announcement to move to Rajya Sabha after having a 20-year tenure as the CM of Bihar.

Speaking to reporters in Patna, Yadav further reiterated his earlier claims related to BJP's willingness to remove Nitish Kumar from CM position, adding that at present his remarks have become true. He added that even when the Bihar CM left Mahagathbandhan in 2024, Tejashwi stated that the BJP would finish JD(U).
