Patna (Bihar) [India], October 31 (ANI): As the nation revels in Diwali festivities, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav, on Thursday extended festive greetings to the public.
Yadav also highlighted that his party's preparations for the upcoming Jharkhand elections are underway with full vigour.
Speaking to reporters, Tejashwi Yadav said, "I wish the people of the country a very happy Diwali. The Jharkhand election campaign is ongoing, and the atmosphere is very positive. People are weary of the current BJP government. As part of the grand alliance, we are contesting the elections with full force..."
Meanwhile, from the bustling streets of Delhi to the serene ghats of Varanasi, to the captivating landscapes of Tamil Nadu and beyond, the entire nation celebrates Diwali, the festival of lights, with great enthusiasm. From Laxmi Puja to fireworks, people across the country are immersed in the festivities and rich traditions.
Visuals from states like Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh depict communities rejoicing in Diwali rituals and celebrations.
In Kolkata, Thoothukudi, Bathinda, Lucknow, Aligarh, Nellore, Pune, Hyderabad, Kottayam, Visakhapatnam, and more, people celebrated Diwali by bursting crackers, marking the joyous occasion.
From political leaders to celebrities and athletes, Diwali wishes poured in from various quarters across the country.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited President Droupadi Murmu to extend Diwali greetings. He also met Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and conveyed festive blessings. Celebrating Diwali with the courageous personnel of the BSF, Army, Navy, and Air Force, PM Modi joined them at Lakki Nala in the Creek Area of Kutch, Gujarat.
Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is one of India's most significant celebrations, symbolising the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. People decorate their homes with diyas, lights, and rangoli, share sweets, and gather for prayers and festivities. (ANI)
