RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav claims PM Modi focusing on "politics of hatred"

Patna (Bihar) [India], April 22 (ANI): Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been focusing on "Politics of Hatred" and urged him to speak on substantial matters. Yadav called for the Prime Minister to address critical issues like poverty, inflation, unemployment, and the overall economy.
"PM Modi should talk about real issues. We appeal with folded hands for PM Modi to abandon politics of hatred and focus on substantial matters. The youth, the elderly, the working class, the farmers, and our mothers and sisters all have a common target, like Arjuna, and that is poverty, inflation, unemployment, and a failing economy. These are the actual issues," Yadav said.
The RJD leader also criticized PM Modi's recent speeches, suggesting that they were centred around religious issues rather than addressing the concerns of the general population.
"It is unbecoming of a Prime Minister to only talk about temples and mosques, and Hindu-Muslim issues. All citizens, especially the majority population, are troubled by unemployment and poverty. Our soldiers are troubled by the Agniveer scheme. Why isn't he addressing these matters?," Yadav said.
Earlier, in a scathing attack on Congress in Rajasthan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday claimed that the Congress's manifesto talks about taking stock of "the gold of mothers and sisters" and distributing that wealth, adding that the then Manmohan Singh government had said Muslims have the first right to the country's assets.
"Their Mangalsutra, the question is not of the cost of gold in it, it is linked to her dreams of her life. You are talking of snatching it in your manifesto...will distribute gold and redistribute. When it was their government, they had said that Muslims have the first right over the country's wealth. Who will you distribute after collecting the wealth, distribute it to those who have more children, and distribute it to infiltrators. Will the money of your hard labour be given to infiltrators, is this acceptable to you? Congress manifesto is saying that they will calculate the gold of mothers, sisters and then redistribute the wealth to those whom the Manmohan Singh government had said that the first right to resources is of Muslims. Brothers, sisters, this thinking of urban Naxals, my mothers, sisters, they will not allow even your Mangalsutra remain in your possession, they will go to this extent," PM Modi said.
PM Modi was referring to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's remarks made in December 2006 that the minorities, particularly Muslim minorities, should have first claim on the country's resources.
Yadav also urged PM Modi to explain what his government has accomplished over the past decade and what plans it has for Bihar's development and the nation's progress.
Yadav further questioned why Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who is running for Lok Sabha, does not have a vision for the state's growth and why he is not demanding special status for Bihar.
"We should talk about real issues, the development of Bihar, and progress. The Chief Minister is running for Lok Sabha but has no vision. Why is he not asking for special status for Bihar? Who should the people of Bihar turn to when there's a double-engine government both in the state and at the centre?" Yadav said.
Polling was held in the first phase of Lok Sabha polls at Jamui, Nawada, Gaya, and Aurangabad on April 19. The state, with 40 Lok Sabha seats will also witness polling in all the remaining six phases of the general elections. (ANI)
