RG Kar Rape and Murder: Shehzad Poonawalla lashes out at Mamata Banerjee

"First, he was reinstated in 4 hours. Instead of taking action on him, he is given a special posting. We have also seen how Kapil Sibal, the lawyer for the Bengal government was laughing in court and the lawyers and the judges had to tell him that this is not a matter to laugh on. This shows the 'nirmammata' (ruthlessness) attitude of the Mamata Banerjee government" the BJP national spokesperson said.

New Delhi [India], August 23 (ANI): BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla on Friday lashed out at Mamata Banerjee over the rape and murder of a woman trainee doctor at RG Kar medical college and hospital and accused her of manipulating evidences.
Shehzad Poonawalla said, "Today, this kind of crocodile tears by Mamata Banerjee does not mean anything because her actions have only been infused with ruthlessness. Why her government has rewarded Sandeep Ghosh once again by making him an OSD (Officer on Special Duty)?...
"First, he was reinstated in 4 hours. Instead of taking action on him, he is given a special posting. We have also seen how Kapil Sibal, the lawyer for the Bengal government was laughing in court and the lawyers and the judges had to tell him that this is not a matter to laugh on. This shows the 'nirmammata' (ruthlessness) attitude of the Mamata Banerjee government" the BJP national spokesperson added.
He further stated "The Supreme Court yesterday slammed the Mamata Banerjee government for the delay in FIR. It said that in 30 years, it has never come across such discrepancies"
Accusing the TMC government of manipulating evidence he said "The entire approach of the TMC government was not to provide justice to the girl but to hide the evidence".
"Today instead of taking responsibility she is trying to brazen it out" he said.
"Kannauj (SP) is silence on Kolkata incident and Kolkata (TMC) is silence on Kannauj incident" he added.
Earlier on Thursday, urging the central government to bring in central legalization and set up fast-track courts for "sensitive" issues, to ensure a fast speedy trial, West Bengal Mamata Banerjee wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the wake of the national outrage over the RG Kar medical hospital incident where a second-year trainee doctor was raped and murdered.
BJP workers also staged a protest against the rape and murder of the PG-trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata.
BJP leaders, including LoP Suvendu Adhikari and MLA Agnimitra Paul, and workers stage a protest outside the premises of the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, however, they were later detained by the Kolkata Police.
Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation on Thursday approached Kolkata High Court for permission to conduct a polygraph test on RG Kar Medical College and Hospital's ex-principal, Dr Sandip Ghosh, and four doctors after finding discrepancies in their statements during the investigation.
A senior CBI official informed that they have approached the court for permission and after getting the permission, the polygraph test will be conducted.
"We will corroborate their statements with the result of the polygraph test to verify their statement given to the agency," the official added.
The CBI official stated that the polygraph test would help verify their statements and corroborate evidence. (ANI)
