Revamp of ITPO complex: Two public servants sent to judicial custody till Jan 12

New Delhi [India], Dec. 29 (ANI): Public servants Pradeep Kumar Mishra and Akashdeep Chauhan, who were arrested in connection with the corruption case of Rs 2,150 crores in re-development project of ITPO Complex at Delhi's Pragati Maidan, have been sent to judicial custody till January 12.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had arrested Mishra when he was allegedly receiving the bike as illegal gratification from Chauhan on December 22.

On Saturday, both Mishra and Chauhan were sent to four-day police custody by a special CBI court.

Earlier on December 23, the CBI registered a case of corruption against the chairman-cum-managing director (CMD) of NBCC, Anoop Kumar Mittal.

They also arrested another employee of the company in this connection.

As per the FIR filed by the CBI, NBCC awarded a contract to a joint venture of Shapoorji Pallonji and Company Pvt. Ltd. and Shapoorji Pallonji Qatar WLL for Rs 2,149.93 crore and a Mumbai based Capacite Structures was allegedly trying to get the work from Shapoorji Pallonji on a subcontract basis.

As per reports, the CBI has alleged that the managing director of Capacite Structures, Sanjay Kulkarni, approached a middleman, Rishabh Agrawal for the same.

Mishra has apparently assured Agrawal that the sub-contract would go to Capacite Structure and in return demanded a new Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle which Kulkarni agreed to provide.

The agency has filed an FIR against Mittal, Mishra, Kulkarni, Agrawal, and Chauhan for criminal conspiracy and corruption. (ANI)
