"Rekha Gupta will become Vikas Rekha of Delhi," BJP leaders congratulate new Delhi CM

New Delhi [India], February 20 (ANI): Highlighting how the Bharatiya Janata Party has formed the government in the national capital after more than 20 years, the Chief Ministers of various states ruled by the party lauded the national capital getting their fourth woman CM on Thursday.
Rekha Gupta was sworn in as Delhi Chief Minister, along with six other cabinet ministers today.
Goa CM Pramod Sawant expressed happiness over the people of Delhi 'blessing' the party, bringing in a 'double engine govt' and removing the 'AAP-Da' as a jibe to the Aam Aadmi Party.
"After 27 years, BJP is getting a chance to work for the welfare of the people of Delhi... Under the leadership of PM Modi, the people of Delhi have blessed us for the development of Delhi and voted for the double-engine government of BJP by removing the 'AAP-Da' government... The double-engine government of BJP will work for the development of the state," he told ANI.
Tripura CM Manik Saha also highlighted how Prime Minister Narendra Modi has worked for the welfare of the poor, youth, women, which resulted in the party securing a victory in the elections which concluded on February 8.
"After 27 years, under the leadership of PM Modi, BJP has won the hearts of the public of Delhi. PM Modi has worked for the welfare of poor, youth, women and as a result BJP is winning elections in all states...Delhi will progress a lot. I congratulate Delhi CM Rekha Gupta and cabinet ministers," the Tripura CM told ANI.
Nayab Singh Saini, Haryana CM expressed confidence in the plan to make a 'Viksit Delhi', telling ANI, "I congratulate Delhi CM Rekha Gupta and the cabinet ministers. Under the leadership of PM Modi, the capital will become a 'Viksit Delhi'."
Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM likened the new Delhi CM to being the 'Bhagya Rekha' and a 'Vikas Rekha' of the national capital. He also said that they will send the Mahakumbh's holy water, the 'Sangam jal' to her.
"Rekha Gupta will become the 'Bhagya Rekha' and 'Vikas Rekha' of Delhi... Soon, Delhi will become the way the nation and the world want it to be... Everyone is welcome at the Kumbh but if she (Rekha Gupta) gets too involved in her new responsibilities, we will send the 'Sangam Jal' to Delhi for her," the UP DyCM said.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma said that the government will be fulfilling the expectations of people, adding, "The BJP government will fulfil the expectations of the public..."
Rekha Gupta on Wednesday was elected as leader of BJP legislative party in a meeting of newly-elected MLAs. The BJP won 48 seats in a historic mandate, ousting the Aam Aadmi Party from power. (ANI)
