Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] October 12 (ANI): Asserting that he is "ready to fight against this Delhi rule and corrupt government", Shive Sena (UBT) Chief Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday accused the ruling Mahayuti alliance of building Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue for votes and said if Maha Vikas Aghadi government comes to power in Maharashtra after the assembly polls, he will build Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Mandir in every district of the state.
Addressing the party's Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park in Mumbai, Uddhav Thackeray remembered Balasaheb Thackeray and said he has the legacy of his father.
He slammed the Mahayuti alliance for the collapse of the Chattrapati Shivaji Statue in the Sindhudurg district in August and said the revered king is "vote bank from them".
"This (Mahayuvti government) only built Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue for votes and that Satute fell, but I want to tell you and promise you that when we come into government I will build Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Mandir in every district of Maharashtra and around them we wrote the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, yes, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is our God and I will build mandir, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is vote bank from them and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is my god." Thackeray said.
He also recalled his meeting with late industry titan Ratan Tata who passed away on September 9.
"I am ready to fight against this Delhi rule and corrupt government. Late Ratan Tata once came to my house and after returning from 'Matoshree' he told me that Uddhav you and I have a legacy and heritage behind us which we have to take forward. Ratan Tata has the legacy of his father and I have the legacy of my father Balasaheb Thackeray. We are the real Shiv Sena and Balasaheb Thackeray's name is with me." Thackeray said.
He also recalled RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's speech at Vijayadashmi event in Nagpur and slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"I respect RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat but I not like his ideas he is telling come together to save Hindutva why you or Modi not save Hindutva in last 10 years?" Thackeray said.
"Amit Shah came to Maharashtra and he said that this time only Mahayuti but in 2019 he said something else... I am not fighting only for myself I am fighting for all of you. They sold Dharavi to Adani and the people of Dharavi are facing many problems. I assure all of you and promise you that when we come to power I will cancel this project of Adani in Dharavi... I want to tell the CJI that if you want to make history then give the right decision. You are only speaking, not giving any decision. You do aarti with Narendra Modi it is fine but if you do not give any decision then everyone will lose faith in the judiciary. People believe only in judiciary and democracy," he added.
Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde held Dussehra rally is held at Azad Maidan.
Maharashtra will go to the polls later this year. The Election Commission of India is yet to announce poll dates.
The upcoming Maharashtra election will see a contest between the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition, comprising the Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), and Congress, and the ruling Mahayuti Alliance, which includes the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction). (ANI)
