Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], April 28 (ANI): Ahead of Congress's 'Samvidhan Bachao' rally in Jaipur on Monday which will be addressed by Congress president Malikarjun Kharge, Congress leader and former CM Ashok Gehlot said that the rallies were being held to tell people how powers that didn't believe in the constitution were destroying it.
"The rallies are being held in the entire country from 25th to 30th April, and then it will be conducted on district and local levels to tell people how some powers that don't believe in the constitution are destroying it..."Gehlot said, speaking to the media.
Speaking on the National Herald case, Gehlot stated that the charges pressed by the ED against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were unfounded.
"Under the same context, the charges pressed by ED on Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are insane... Everyone is proud of the legacy of National Herald... Unfortunately, it had to be closed, but Congress tried to resurrect it... Gave a loan worth Rs 90 crore to AJL in 10 years... All the transactions were made through cheques... A non-profit company called Young India Company was made... The government knows this and yet an issue was made... If this can be done with our leaders, what will happen to the workers?... These activities of such fascist people will be challenged..." Gehlot further added.
Congress leader Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa stated that the rally was for saving the constitution and the country.
He further stated that the entire country stood with Prime Minister Narendra Modi against the heinous Pahalgam terror attack.
Speaking to the media, Randhawa said, "It is a rally for saving the constitution as well as the country... The country stands with the Prime Minister against the heinous incident of Pahalgam, and the Prime Minister needs to give a befitting reply to Pakistan over this. All parties need to unite in condemning the activities of Pakistan."
Congress MLA Govind Singh Dotasara said that the rally was called to bring an end to speeches, corruption and fascism going on in the country.
"Speeches, corruption, fascism are going on in the country, which is why AICC has decided to call for 'Samvidhan Bachao' Rally..." Dotasara said speaking to the media. (ANI)
