Buxar (Bihar) [India], May 29 (ANI): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday attacked the Congress and its ally Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), saying lantern (RJD election symbol) is flickering and compared Congress to dinosaurs, saying it would become extinct from Indian politics.
In the final phase of the Lok Sabha election, Singh addressed four election meetings in Bihar.
Attacking RJD, the Defence Minister said no matter how much light a lantern gives, it can only light up one room. The oil of the lantern is now running out. When the oil of the lantern starts running out, the wick starts flickering, and it assumes that the lantern is about to be extinguished. Singh also targeted Congress and compared it to dinosaurs, saying that the party would become extinct from Indian politics.
Singh also responded to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's recent remarks, in which Gandhi mentioned the existence of a 'systematic bias' against lower castes since his family was in power. He said it was good that Rahul Gandhi accepted that the system that was created during Congress rule was anti-backward, anti-poor, and anti-dalit. PM Narendra Modi comes from a backward class; there was already reservation on the basis of socioeconomics, but Modi also ensured reservation to economically weak sections; it was only he who had the courage to do it in independent India.
"We never do politics of appeasement, but we do politics of humanity. Political parties were scared of losing vote, but it was BJP that brought triple talaq because mothers and sisters may belong to any religion; for NDA people, they are mothers and sisters," he said.
Singh said that the condition of Congress has become such that after 10 years, if you ask to a child about Congress, he will say, who is Congress? Congress will disappear from Indian politics after 10 years. Congress ruled for 52 years but they could not take India to where it should have taken it.
"We do politics not to form a government but to building a country. It is for building the self-respect, honour, and dignity of the country. Earlier, during the rule of Congress, terrorist incidents used to happen regularly. Now it rarely happens," he said. (ANI)
