Rajasthan: Woman gang-raped, stripped naked in Bhilwara

Bhilwara (Rajasthan) [India], September 10 (ANI): A woman was allegedly gang-raped and stripped naked near the Gangapur police station area of Bhilwara district in Rajasthan on Saturday, officials said.
According to Gangapur Deputy Superintendent of Police, Labhu Ram Bishnoi, three men under the influence of alcohol abducted the woman while she went for a walk after dinner and raped her.
"The three accused raped and stripped the woman naked. Villagers caught sight of her on the road and informed the police," DSP Bishnoi said.
Upon receiving the information, the police reached the spot and took the victim for a medical examination.
Meanwhile, locals also gathered outside the office of DSP Gangapur, protesting against the incident and demanding justice.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
Earlier on August 31, a tribal woman was allegedly beaten and paraded naked by her husband and in-laws in Rajasthan's Pratapgarh district, police said. The incident came to light after a video went viral.
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) also issued a notice to the Rajasthan government over the Pratapgarh incident in which a woman was allegedly beaten and paraded naked whose video went viral.
"National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, India has taken suo motu cognizance of a media report that a pregnant woman was allegedly beaten up and paraded naked in the village by her family members in Pratapgarh district of Rajasthan on 31st August, 2023. Reportedly, a video of the incident also went viral on social media," an official statement issued by the Commission said.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also said that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed for the investigation and a total of 11 people have been arrested in this regard. (ANI)
