Rajasthan: Water tank collapses in Alwar, many injured

Alwar (Rajasthan), [India], Mar 12 (ANI): Around 18 people were injured and several feared trapped in debris after a water tank which was under construction, collapsed in Rajasthan’s Alwar on Tuesday.

Alwar (Rajasthan), [India], Mar 12 (ANI): Around 18 people were injured and several feared trapped in debris after a water tank which was under construction, collapsed in Rajasthan’s Alwar on Tuesday.
The district administration, in swift action, launched a rescue operation and managed to quickly save six persons trapped in the debris.  
Inderjit Singh, DM of Alwar said, "A water tank with a capacity of around four lakh litres collapsed. Several people are feared to be trapped in the debris. The administration quickly launched a rescue operation. Six people were rescued. More than one-and-half dozen are reported to be injured.”
The water tank was under construction near court premises. The contractor was yet to hand it over to the administration.
Authorities claimed that the accident happened due to the construction of a sewerage line and safety tank close to the water tank. (ANI)
