Jaipur/Jodhpur (Rajasthan) [India], October 22 (ANI): Two IndiGo flights operating from Hyderabad to Jodhpur and from Kolkata to Jaipur received bomb threats on Tuesday, prompting the airline to activate emergency protocols, officials said.
According to police, bomb threats were received on two flights, including the Hyderabad-Jodhpur flight (6E-297) and the Kolkata-Jaipur flight (6E-394).
Both threats turned out to be hoaxes.
The Hyderabad-Jodhpur flight received a bomb threat at around 5.45 pm, after which authorities responded at Jodhpur Airport. A thorough search was conducted for any potential threats in the aircraft, and the flight was cleared to operate towards its other destinations.
"Around 5.45 pm, we received information about a bomb on the flight. All agencies were activated, and teams reached the spot. The passengers were de-boarded, and the aircraft was properly checked. It is now flying towards its destination after being cleared by the bomb squad," said DCP, Jodhpur East, Alok Shrivastava.
In another incident, IndiGo flight 6E-394 operating from Kolkata to Jaipur received a bomb threat via X, which also turned out to be a hoax.
According to Sandeep Basera, Station House Officer at the Airport Police Station, no suspicious objects or bombs were found during the investigation, following a search of the aircraft.
"No suspicious object or bomb was found during the investigation of the plane. There were a total of 163 passengers on board, and during the investigation, passengers and cabin crew were de-boarded. The information about the bomb threat was received through X," said SHO Basera. (ANI)
