Rajasthan government being run by RSS: Congress

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], Mar 5 (ANI): The Congress party on Monday alleged that the Vasundhara Raje government is a puppet in the hands of the Rashtriya Swyamsewak Sangh(RSS).

Congress leader Govind Singh Dotasara slammed the Rajasthan government for imposing the will of the RSS upon the school children of Rajasthan.

He said, "The government in Rajasthan is being run on the directions of the RSS", adding, "First the government gave directions to change the curiculum taught in the schools".

He was referring to the case where the Education Department of Rajasthan came out with directions wherein changes were ordered in the history books glorifying the victory of the Rajputs over the Mughals.

In the second case, the Raje government allegedly came out with a direction for government schools about distributing a booklet amongst the student, which talked about their achievements.

"Then they issued a notice directing schools that only saffron coloured clothes will be worn by the school students" he said, referring to the notice to students in Rajasthan colleges being barred from wearing jeans and T-shirts after the uniforms are introduced for 2018-2019 session.

Dress code for boys include shirt, trousers, sweater (winters), shoes, socks and belt. Meanwhile, dress code for girls include salwar suit, dupatta, sweater or cardigan (winters), saree, shoes/sandals and socks.

All student union members, other students, senior members have been asked to give their opinion on colour and style of dress.

"I firmly believe that the Rajasthan government wants everyone to wear saffron coloured clothes so that everyone turns into baba's(mystics)" he said accusing the Raje government of saffronising everything in Rajasthan.(ANI)
