Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], October 8 (ANI): Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday said that Madhuram Jaipal, the farmer who alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party misused his picture in a poster, called on him and told him that his goodwill was lost after the opposition party put up the hoardings across the poll-bound state.
A new political slugfest erupted in Rajasthan after a farmer of Jaisalmer, Madhuram alleged that the BJP misused his picture in a poster put up by the party under its campaign 'Nahi Sahega Rajasthan'.
The poster, which shows the photo of a farmer and claims that the land of more than 19,000 farmers in Rajasthan was auctioned after they failed to repay their bank loans, has been put up in several parts of the state.
The Chief Minister met Madhuram on Saturday and posted a video of the interaction on his X platform.
Bhuraram, the son of the farmer in the BJP poster, could be heard in the video saying that they are getting benefits of the Gehlot government's schemes and that the BJP has done wrong by plastering a poster bearing his 70-year-old father's image.
Addressing the media after the meeting in the Congress Committee War Room, Chief Minister Gehlot said that the farmer is alleging that his goodwill has been lost following the posters.
"Yesterday farmer Madhuram met me. He told me that I have 200 acres of land and I have not taken any loan but my photo was put up all over Rajasthan. he said his goodwill got spoiled because of the posters," Gehlot said. (ANI)
