New Delhi [India], August 31 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda has formed a four-member inquiry committee on Thursday to probe the death of two Dalits in Rajasthan's Nagaur.
The committee will submit a detailed report to JP Nadda after the probe, the BJP said in a press release issued by the National General Secretary and Headquarters Incharge Arun Singh.
The committee members include Rajya Sabha MPs Brij Lal, Kanta Kardam, Sikander Kumar and Lok Sabha MP Ranjeeta Koli.
"Honourable Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, National President of Bharatiya Janata Party, has expressed deep sorrow over the barbaric thrashing of three Dalits in Kuchaman, Nagaur, Rajasthan, in which two persons died and one person is fighting for life in the hospital," the press release stated.
"Such heinous murders, Dalit oppression, atrocities on women are increasing day by day, Jungle Raj is at its peak and law and order has completely collapsed," the release further mentioned.
Two Dalit youths were crushed to death this week by a car in Rajasthan's Kuchaman and one was critically injured.
The BJP has often highlighted the increase in incidents of Dalit oppression and women atrocities in Rajasthan to corner the Ashok Gehlot government which will face the polls in November this year.
Earlier in July, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot sacked Rajendra Gudha as minister of state, hours after he criticised his own government over the crimes against women in the state.
Rajasthan goes to the polls later this year along with Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telanagana and Mizoram. In Rajasthan the BJP and the Congress are in direct contest with each other with Congress winning 99 seats in 2018 elections. The Gehlot lead government later got the support of BSP and independents.
