Rajasthan: 4 dead, several injured after sleeper bus hits trailer in fog on Agra-Jaipur Highway

A sleeper bus travelling from Kasganj to Jaipur collided with the rear of a trailer near Ludhawai bridge in the Sewar police station area. The collision was so severe that the front of the bus was completely destroyed.

Bharatpur (Rajasthan) [India], January 29 (ANI): Four passengers died and five were seriously injured after a tragic road accident occurred in the early hours of Thursday on the Agra-Jaipur National Highway, officials said.
A sleeper bus travelling from Kasganj to Jaipur collided with the rear of a trailer near Ludhawai bridge in the Sewar police station area. The collision was so severe that the front of the bus was completely destroyed.
The accident occurred between 2:30 am and 3:00 am. Local residents rushed to help passengers trapped inside the bus and assisted police with the rescue operation.
The deceased have been identified as Kanha (8), son of Ramveer, a resident of Satova, Mathura (Uttar Pradesh); Geeta (38), wife of Ramveer, also from Satova; Mukhan Singh (28), son of Khem Singh, resident of Kathumar, Alwar (Rajasthan); and Muslim (40), son of Ismail from Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh.
Soon after the incident, police and locals reached the site after hearing the screams of trapped passengers, and the injured were rescued and rushed to District RBM Hospital.
Bharti Gupta, SDM of Bharatpur, confirmed the details of the accident and said, "Four people died on the spot, and five passengers are undergoing treatment at RBM Hospital. The bodies of the deceased have been kept in the mortuary, and families have been informed. Post-mortem will be conducted after their arrival."
Ramveer of Satova, Mathura, who lost his wife and son in the horrific accident. Ramveer, who makes paper turbans for deities and regularly travels to Khatu Shyam Ji to supply his goods, had taken his family along on this pilgrimage.
Speaking from his hospital bed, Ramveer said, "I went for a simple pilgrimage with my wife and son, and in an instant, I lost them both. My entire world has shattered. I cannot put into words the pain of losing my loved ones right before my eyes."
Sewar police station SI Awadhesh said dense fog was a likely factor contributing to the collision. "We are investigating the exact cause of the accident. The trailer driver and bus staff are being questioned," he added.
The injured are currently receiving treatment at RBM Hospital and are reported to be in critical condition.
Further investigation is currently underway. (ANI)
