"Railways will conduct probe": BJP Bihar chief Samrat Chaudhary on Buxar train accident

BJP state president Samrat Chaudhary on Thursday expressed grief over the loss of lives in the derailment of 21 coaches of the North East Express in the Buxar district on Wednesday night.

Buxar (Bihar) [India], October 12 (ANI): BJP state president Samrat Chaudhary on Thursday expressed grief over the loss of lives in the derailment of 21 coaches of the North East Express in the Buxar district on Wednesday night.
In a personalised videlo address in the wake of the derailment, which left 4 passengers dead and another 30 injured, Chaudhary said "I was saddnned to learn of the unfortunate train derailment in Buxar district. The Railways launched an immediate rescue operation after the coaches derailed. Even our Union ministers and party workers were at the spot to extend a helping hand in the rescue operations. Trapped passengers were evacuated but there were some fatalities as well. I pray to the Almighty for the safety of all passengers. The Railways will conduct a thorough investigation into the incident."
Earlier, on Thursday, Union Minister Ashwini Choubey oversaw the restoration work and rescue operations at the scene of the derailment.
Speaking to reporters, Choubey said, "The scene was horrifying. I thank the locals for exdtending a helping hand in the rescue operation. Locals in their thousands set aside their household chores and rushed to help out disstressed passengers."
"As soon as I received word of the derailment, I informed all the departments concerned -- from the Railways ministry to the Prime Minister's Office. Rescue operations were launched and hospitals were told to be prepared to take in the injured," Choubey said.
At least four passengers were killed and around 30 injured after 21 coaches of the North-East Express train derailed near Raghunathpur station in Buxar district, an official said.
The North East Express train had rolled out of Anand Vihar Terminal, Delhi and was heading to Kamakhya in Assam when the coaches jumped rails near Raghunathpur station of Danapur division of the East Central Railway. (ANI)
