"Rail tragedies keep happening," AAP demands dismissal of Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw

New Delhi [India], October 30 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National General Secretary (Organization) and Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak on Monday slammed the central government over train accidents happening in quick succession in the country, saying that it is the result of a failed system.
Sandeep Pathak offered condolences to the families of the deceased in the train accident in Andhra Pradesh's Vizianagaram.
"Yet another rail tragedy. I express my deepest condolences to the families of those killed in the Andhra Pradesh train accident and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured," he said in the post.

The AAP MP further said, "It is the second major train accident this month. The rail tragedies keep happening. Such accidents cannot happen merely by chance. This is the result of a failed system of government. Rail passengers' safety is not part of the Modi government's priorities. Ashwini Vaishnaw should be dismissed immediately."
Earlier on Sunday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK leader MK Stalin said he was "deeply distressed" by the train collision in Andhra Pradesh's coming just months after the tragic Balsore train accident and asked the Union Government to "enhance train safety measures" and "ensure the safety of passengers."
CM Stalin highlighted that with a significant number of Indians relying on railways for their commute, "it's alarming to witness such incidents in quick succession".
"It's imperative for the union government and the railways to urgently reevaluate and enhance train safety measures, ensuring the trust and safety of passengers is upheld," he said in a series of posts on X.
Meanwhile, the East Coast Railways informed that as many as 33 trains have been cancelled and six others rescheduled till now after the mishap in which two trains collided in Andhra Pradesh's Vizianagaram leaving 14 persons dead.
Biswajit Sahu, Chief Public Relations Official, East Coast Railway, Bhubaneshwar confirmed that a total of 33 trains have been cancelled, 24 trains were diverted and 11 were partially cancelled following the accident involving the collision between two passenger trains between Kantakapalle and Alamanada Stations of Waltair Division.
Out of this, three trains have been cancelled and two have been rescheduled this morning, he said
At least 13 people died and several were injured when coaches derailed after the Visakhapatnam-Ragada passenger train hit a Visakhapatnam-Ragada train travelling on the same route in Andhra Pradesh's Vizianagaram district on Sunday evening.
The Divisional Railway Manager said that 3 coaches were involved in the accident.
"There was a rear collision between the Visakhapatnam-Palasa passenger train and the Visakhapatnam-Ragada passenger train. Three coaches were involved in the accident. Rescue operations are underway, Local administration and NDRF were informed for assistance and ambulances. Accident relief trains reached the site," the Divisional Railway Manager said. (ANI)
