New Delhi [India], September 28 (ANI): Congress MP and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Saturday paid tribute to the freedom fighter Bhagat Singh on his 117th birth anniversary, saying that his courage, sacrifice and martyrdom will always be a source of inspiration for all.
"Humble tribute to the great revolutionary Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh ji on his birth anniversary. His courage, sacrifice and martyrdom will always be a source of inspiration for all of us," Rahul Gandhi posted on X.

Sharing a quote by the Indian revolutionary Bhagat Singh, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also paid tribute to him and said, even today, he is a source of inspiration for millions of youth.
In a social media post on X, Kharge wrote, "I am writing the outcome of which...Tomorrow will be the start...Every drop of my blood...will bring revolution." ~ Martyr Bhagat Singh
The tweet added, "On the birth anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh ji, a great freedom fighter who sacrificed everything for the independence of the country, we pay our respects to him. Bhagat Singh wrote continuously against the divisive forces in society and raised his voice against inequality. Till date, he is a source of inspiration for millions of youth because of this thinking."

Born on September 27, 1907, Bhagat Singh was a charismatic Indian socialist revolutionary who participated in the mistaken murder of a junior British police officer in what was to be retaliation for the death of an Indian nationalist.
Bhagat Singh was born into a Punjabi Sikh family in the village of Banga in the Lyallpur district of the Punjab in what was then British India and is today Pakistan.
He later took part in a largely symbolic bombing of the Central Legislative Assembly in Delhi and a hunger strike in jail, which turned him into a household name in the Punjab region, and after his execution at age 23 into a martyr and folk hero in Northern India. (ANI)
