New Delhi [India], August 9 (ANI): Leader of Opposition of Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Thursday extended greetings to all the members of the Indian Youth Congress on the occasion of IYC's Foundation Day.
Taking to social media platform X, Rahul Gandhi said, "Warmest wishes to all the members of the Indian Youth Congress on IYC's Foundation Day. Your efforts are crucial in uniting India's youth against injustice and inequality while upholding the core values of the Congress party. Continue to champion the dreams and aspirations of our youth. More power to you!"
Meanwhile, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge too extended greetings. "Warmest greetings to the members of Indian Youth Congress on your Foundation Day! As a beacon of hope for our youth, @IYC has fearlessly championed India's values and principles. Let us amplify the voices of young Indians, standing united against injustice and hatred. Together, let's strive for a better India, shaping a brighter tomorrow for everyone," Kharge posted on X.
Jammu and Kashmir Youth Congress said, "As we celebrate Foundation Day of Indian Youth Congress, we honour the over six-decade legacy of the IYC and its steadfast commitment to the values of democracy, secularism, and social justice. Jai Hind!"
Earlier in the month, with the dissolution of the old executive of the Youth Congress, the election process in the organisation started. Indian Youth Congress has announced significant changes regarding the body's elections.
The organisation has dissolved its previous committee and initiated a new membership drive. The nomination process commenced on August 4 and will run till August 14.
Youth Congress state in-charge Vineet Kamboj said that there is a process of election of Youth Congress, draw has been taken out in which Shimla and Solan districts will be reserved for SC and ST. Youth Congress membership has started in the entire state. Old people will also be given a place based on performance. Only those who have voter ID will have the right to become a member and vote. He said that this election process will be done with transparency through the IYC app. Those who will help people in the disaster, do good work, they will be given a place in the list based on performance. He said that this election process will be completed in 2 to 2.5 months. (ANI)
