QS World University Rankings: DU ranks 1st among Central Universities from India

DU Vice Chancellor Professor Yogesh Singh said that among the top 10 institutions from India, DU has made the highest progress moving up by 79 ranks.

New Delhi [India], June 5 (ANI): Delhi University (DU) has ranked 1st position among the central universities from India in the QS World University Rankings-2025.
While in the list of all institutions across the country, the DU ranked 7th against 9th position last year.
DU Vice Chancellor Professor Yogesh Singh said that among the top 10 institutions from India, DU has made the highest progress, moving up by 79 ranks.
Singh congratulated the entire DU family for this achievement and said that DU is constantly moving forward due to the faculty members and students of the university and their important contribution to the academic environment and nation-building.
The University of Delhi ranked 328th in the QS World University Rankings 2025, improving tremendously compared to last year's ranking of 407th.
The University performed among the top 22 per cent in the QS World University Rankings.
Of the nine indicators, the University of Delhi has been ranked among 270 institutions globally in four indicators, 44th in Employment Outcomes, 220th in Sustainability, 225th in Academic Reputation, and 269th in Employer Reputation.
Among the top 10 institutions from India, the University of Delhi made the highest progress moving up by 79 ranks.
The University of Delhi, among Institutions from India, ranked 1st in the Employment Outcomes and Sustainability, 3rd in International Research Network, 5th in Academic Reputation and 8th in Employer Reputation.
Among the nine performance indicators, the university improves on five, including sustainability -- evaluates the social and environmental impact of universities as centres of education and research, academic reputation -- designed to evaluate the perceptions of global academics on which institutions are demonstrating academic excellence, employer reputation -- designed to evaluate the perceptions of global employers on which institutions are providing the most job-ready graduates, international research network -- assesses the richness and diversity of an institution's international research partnerships, citations per faculty -- measures the average number of citations obtained per faculty member, and is an estimate of the impact and quality of the scientific work produced by universities.
