Punjab: BSF recovers broken drone from harvested field in Amritsar

The BSF has recovered a drone in broken condition from a harvesting field adjacent to the village Ratan khurd in Amritsar District on Sunday, officials said.

Amritsar (Punjab) [India], May 6 (ANI): The BSF has recovered a drone in broken condition from a harvesting field adjacent to the village Ratan Khurd in Amritsar District on Sunday, officials said.
"On May 5, the BSF intelligence wing shared information regarding the presence of a drone in a harvested wheat field in the border area of district Amritsar. Responding immediately, carried out an extensive search operation in the suspected area," the BSF said in a press release.
The BSF further said that the troops recovered one drone in broken condition in a harvesting field.
"During the search, at about 04:50 pm on the same day, the troops recovered one drone in broken condition in a harvested field adjacent to the village Ratan Khurd in Amritsar District," the BSF further said.
The recovered drone has been identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic.
In its statement, the BSF said "The reliable input and dutiful BSF troops again successfully recovered a drone sent by its handlers from across the border."

Earlier, on May 5, during the morning hours, an Ex-serviceman of BSF residing in a border village of district Gurdaspur informed the BSF intelligence wing about the presence of a drone in the border area. Based on the information, BSF troops rushed to the spot and carried out an extensive search operation.
The search culminated with the recovery of 01 drone in damaged condition from a farming field near the village Haruwal in district Gurdaspur. The recovered drone has been identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 classic.
In its statement, the BSF said "The reliable information of an aware and law-abiding Ex-BSF personnel helped the BSF troops thwart an illicit attempt of drone intrusion from across the border."
In the past 15 days, BSF troops have recovered 20 Pakistani drones, recovered 15.340 kg of heroin, and 3 pistols, and seized 42 rounds. Additionally, BSF has apprehended 4 Indian smugglers, nabbed 1 armed intruder from Pakistan, and apprehended 1 Pakistani national, along with seizing Rs 1,10,000 in drug money.
In a statement, the BSF Punjab unit said "This marks a significant achievement by BSF in Punjab, and as always, BSF is committed to cutting off the supply of drugs and arms from Pakistan. This significant recovery coincides with the General Parliamentary elections of 2024 and BSF is ensuring that no one from across the border can disrupt the peaceful democratic process." (ANI)
