Pune (Maharashtra), Jan 08 (ANI): A security guard in Maharashtra's Pune used the COVID-19 lockdown for better career prospects after losing his job in December 2019 and became a businessman.
The spread of the coronavirus outbreak left many without jobs and no income, however, some have turned the adversity into opportunity. Hailing from Pimpri-Chinchwad area of Pune, 28-year-old Revan Shinde used to work with a company as a security guard. He now owns a food outlet 'Cafe 18'. On a daily basis, Revan sells around 600-700 cups of tea. Revan along with his team clocks a profit of Rs 50,000- 60,000 monthly.
He supplies tea and coffee to corporate offices and industrial workers.
Speaking to ANI, Revan said, "After norms relaxed and offices reopened, people found it difficult to get tea." He got his clients hooked onto the tea and converted them into regulars.
"We decided to deliver tea and coffee for free to see the response. Now, we sell around 600-700 cups of tea daily," he added. (ANI)
