New Delhi [India], November 5 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to grant anticipatory bail to Arunkumar Devnath Singh, father of a minor driver's friend, in a case relating to the Porsche car accident which claimed two lives in Pune earlier this year.
A bench of Justices Sudhanshu Dhulia and Ahsanuddin Amanullah declined to interfere with the October 23 Bombay High Court order that had denied anticipatory bail to Singh, father of co-accused sitting next to the main accused.
The applicant's minor son was allegedly in the rear seat of the luxury car, which was reportedly being driven by another minor on May 19, 2024, at a high speed and killed two youths after mowing them down in Pune.
Both minors were purportedly drunk when the car fatally knocked down two IT professionals on a motorbike in Pune's Kalyani Nagar.
The parents of the juvenile driver allegedly bribed the doctors to swap his blood samples with those of his mother and similarly, Singh had been accused of replacing the blood samples of his son in connivance with the doctors at the government-run hospital.
The High Court in its order had also noted that Singh had bribed the doctors at the Sassoon Hospital in Pune just after the accident to get his son's blood samples changed, only to ensure that the medical reports did not indicate the presence of any alcohol in his son's blood. (ANI)
