Pune : Man arrested for allegedly raping minor girl

Pune (Maharashtra) [India], August 24 (ANI): Police have arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly threatening and raping a minor girl in the Hinjewadi area of Pune.
The accused, identified as Kartik Kambale has been booked under IPC sections 376, 376(2), and 506, as well as relevant sections of the POCSO Act.
According to the police, the accused met the victim on Instagram and established a physical relation against her will. He also threatened to kill her if she revealed the relationship to anyone.
As per the police, the incident occurred between April to June earlier this year.
After a formal complaint was filed, the police registered a case at the Hinjewadi police station and arrested the accused on Thursday.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Suresh Kurade told ANI that the accused had also sexually harassed the victim and has been remanded to police custody for four days.
"The victim came with her family and reported the incident. The accused has been arrested. The victim and the accused came in contact through Instagram. The accused later sexually harassed the victim. He also threatened to kill her if she told her family about it. The accused has been arrested and the Court has given him a 4-day remand. Further legal action is underway," he said. (ANI)
