"Pulse polio campaign to be conducted in 16 districts in state from Dec 8 to 16": CM Mohan Yadav

The CM said, "We all know that polio causes lifelong disability in children and it has been a very painful disease. Vaccine is the only preventive measure against polio. Children and our coming future generations are safe due to the vaccine. The pulse polio campaign will be conducted in 16 districts in the state from December 8 to December 16. I appeal to everyone to motivate all families to participate in this campaign."

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], December 5 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday highlighted that polio caused lifelong disability in children and the vaccine was the only preventive measure against it. In view of the said disease, a dedicated campaign will be conducted in 16 districts in the state from December 8 to December 16.
He also expressed his happiness that the public representatives, government departments, health workers and self-help organizations worked all together to overcome it and extended greetings to everyone on the success of the mission.
"India has been polio-free for the last decade. I am happy that all types of public representatives, government departments, health workers and self-help organizations worked all together on a large scale to make the nation polio free. I would like to congratulate everyone for the success of this entire mission," CM Yadav told ANI.
The CM further said, "We all know that polio causes lifelong disability in children and it has been a very painful disease. Vaccine is the only preventive measure against polio. Children and our coming future generations are safe due to the vaccine. The pulse polio campaign will be conducted in 16 districts in the state from December 8 to December 16. I appeal to everyone to motivate all families to participate in this campaign."
The 16 districts include Bhind, Bhopal, Chhindwara, Datia, Gwalior, Indore, Katni, Khargone, Mandsaur, Narsinghpur, Neemuch, Niwari, Satna, Sheopur, Tikamgarh, Vidisha etc, he added.
The Chief Minister also emphasised that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had pledged to make the country Tuberculosis (TB) free in 2018 and appealed to everyone to be a part in the mission.
"PM Modi has pledged to make the country Tuberculosis (TB) free in 2018. We all should take part in this pledge. 347 districts in the country have been shortlisted to be a part of this (100-Day Intensified Campaign) campaign. 23 districts of Madhya Pradesh have also been shortlisted. People suffering from tuberculosis should be a part of this campaign," the CM added.
The 23 districts include Alirajpur, Anuppur, Betul, Chhatarpur, Chhindwara, Damoh, Datia, Dindori, Jabalpur, Katni, Khandwa, Mandla, Mandsaur, Narsinghpur, Neemuch, Ratlam, Sehore, Seoni, Sheopur, Sidhi, Singrauli, Ujjain and Vidisha, the CM said.
"Under the leadership of PM Modi, the Madhya Pradesh Government is working to eliminate this disease from every person's life. Let us all together become TB free. TB is a curable disease. There is no need to be afraid of TB. Let us identify the patient and resolve to cure him of the disease. I extend my greeting to everyone for the success of this mission," he concluded. (ANI)
