Priyanka Gandhi meets family members of Shiv temple collapse victims in Shimla

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], September 28 (ANI): Congress General Secreatry Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday met one of the family members who lost seven members of her family on August 14 in the Shiv temple collapse in Shimla where 20 people died due to a landslide.
Notably, Priyanka and former Congress chief Sonia Gandhi are on a personal visit to Shimla. The mother-daughter duo arrived in Shimla on Tuesday afternoon.
Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu also met Priyanka Gandhi in Shimla at her residence in Chharabra near the state capital, sources said.
Earlier in September 13, Priyanka Gandhi visited the flood-hit Shiv Temple to review the relief and restoration efforts, and interacted with the flood victims. Gandhi was accompanied by Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu during her visit.
Himachal Pradesh continued to bear the brunt of incessant rain triggering landslides, leading to buildings collapsing in several areas of the state.
The northern state has suffered losses amounting to Rs 8,679 crore since the onset of monsoon on June 24 till September 11. More than 2,575 houses have been fully damaged and 11,000 have been partially affected. (ANI)
