President Kovind, PM Modi celebrate Dussehra at Red Fort ground

New Delhi [India], September 30 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu attended the massive celebration of Vijayadashami or Dussehra at Red Fort ground on Saturday.

President Kovind, PM Modi celebrate Dussehra at Red Fort ground

New Delhi [India], September 30 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu attended the massive celebration of Vijayadashami or Dussehra at Red Fort ground on Saturday.

The event also saw former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President Kovind's other half Savita Kovind attending the celebration.

Ministry of Science & Technology, Harsh Vardhan was present at the Dussehra celebration at Red Fort Ground as well.

Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP's) chief Manoj Tiwari and Minister of States (MoS) for Parliamentary Affairs Vijay Goel were also present at the Red Fort Ground for Vijayadashami celebrations.


The Prime Minister and the President addressed the crowd, after which Prime Minister Narendra Modi was presented the iconic bow and arrow, where he projectile the Raavan to start the burning of Raavan.

President Kovind was also presented with the same, where he too projectile the bow and arrow.

Later effigies of Ravan, Kumbhakarn and Meghnad were burnt at Delhi's Red Fort Ground.

The burning of Raavan showcases the victory of good over evil.

BJP President Amit Shah attended the Dussehra celebration at the Ramlila Maidan in Delhi, where actor John Abraham also attended the celebrations.(ANI)
