President confers medals to Fire Service, Home Guards, Civil Defence personnel

New Delhi [India] Aug 14 (ANI): President Ramnath Kovind has awarded 'Fire Service Medals' to 56 personnel and 'Home Guard and Civil Defence Medals' to 44 personnel on the occasion of India's 73rd Independence Day.

New Delhi [India] Aug 14 (ANI): President Ramnath Kovind has awarded 'Fire Service Medals' to 56 personnel and 'Home Guard and Civil Defence Medals' to 44 personnel on the occasion of India's 73rd Independence Day.
'Fire Service Medals for Gallantry' have been awarded to Umapathi Dhandapani of Tamil Naidu whereas, Shivashankara Nanjunde Gowda, Manjunath Narayan Belaguppa, Kriparam Sharma are among eight personnel who have been awarded 'Fire Service Medal for Distinguished Service', said an official statement on Wednesday.
And also, 'Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service' has been awarded to 47 personnel including Kuleswar Teron, Promod Talukdar and Prasanna Teron.
'Home Guard and Civil Defence Medals for Distinguished Service' have been conferred to eight personnel including Bhuban Saikia and Ashok Kumar Verma.
Moreover, Home Guard and Civil Defence Medals for Meritorious Service have been given to 36 personnel including Gobin Saikia, Laxmi Sahu, Aslam Khan, and Sayar Singh Solanki. (ANI)
