President confers 36 Gallantry awards to personnel for displaying extreme devotion to duty

The awards were given to the personnel for displaying conspicuous gallantry, indomitable courage and extreme devotion to duty

New Delhi [India], July 5 (ANI): President Droupadi Murmu conferred 10 Kirti Chakras (seven posthumous) and 26 Shaurya Chakras (seven posthumous) to the personnel of the Armed Forces, Central Armed Police Forces and State/Union Territory Police during Defence Investiture Ceremony (Phase-1) held at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi today.
The President presented the Kirti Chakra award to Inspector Dilip Kumar Das 210 CoBRA, CRPF, Head Constable CRPF Raj Kumar Yadava, CRPF Constable Bablu Radha and Sambhu Roy, Sepoy Pawan Kumar, The Grenadiers 55th Battalion, Rashtriya Rifles, Captain Anshuman Singh, Havaldar Abdul Majid.
Major Digvijay Singh Rawat, Major Deependra Vikram Basnet and Naib Subedar Pawan Kumar Yadav were also presented with the award.
26 Shaurya Chakr were awarded to different recipients by the President today which included the people from Jammu and Kashmir Police and Army.
Jammu and Kashmir police constable Safiullah Qadri, Major Vikas Bhambhu Army Medal, Major Mustafa Bohara, Rifleman Kulbushan Manta, the Jammu and Kashmir Rifles, 52nd Battalion, Havildar Vivek Singh Tomar, Rifleman Alok Rao, 18 Assam Rifles and Captain MV Pranjal, The Corps of Signals, 63rd Battalion, the Rashtriya Rifles were conferred with Shaurya Chakr.
Along with them, Constable Gamit Mukesh Kumar, Sub-Inspector Amit Raina, JK Police, Sub-Inspector Faroz Ahmad Dar, Assistant Commandant Bibhor Kumar Singh, Constable Varun Singh, Superintendent of Police, Mohan Lal (JK police), Major Rajendra Prasad, Major Ravinder Singh Rawat, Naik Bhim Singh, Major Sachin Negi and Major Maneo Francis were also awarded.
Wing Commander Shailesh Singh, Lieutenant Bimal Ranjan Behera, Havildar Sanjay Kumar, Flight Lieutenant Hrishikesh Jayan Karuthedath, Captain Akshat Upadhyay, Naib Subedar Baria Sanjay Kumar Bhamar Singh, Major Amandeep Jakhar and Parshotam Kumar were also given Shaurya Chakra by the President.
The awards were given to the personnel for displaying conspicuous gallantry, indomitable courage and extreme devotion to duty. (ANI)
