"Preparing in every way required": Himachal's Kangra Airport Authority ahead of PM Modi's visit

Kangra (Himachal Pradesh) [India], September 9 (ANI): Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Himachal Pradesh, the Kangra Airport Authority is making preparations for his arrival, ensuring everything is in place for a smooth event.
Speaking to ANI on Monday, Kangra Airport Director Dhirendra Singh further said that no flights have been cancelled, however, some have been rescheduled to accommodate the Prime Minister's visit.
"We are preparing in every way required... We are not cancelling any flights for this event, we have only rescheduled some of them... the PM might have the meetings within the airport premises only... As per reports, the meeting will include the presence of the state Governor, CM and Union Minister JP Nadda, along with the dignitaries approved by the PM Office..." the Kangra Airport Director said.
Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to visit Himachal Pradesh and Punjab today to review the flood situation in these states.
He will undertake an aerial survey of the flood and landslide-hit areas in Himachal Pradesh.
At around 1.30 pm, PM Modi will reach Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, where he will meet officials and chair a high-level review meeting on the situation.
PM Modi will also meet the flood-affected persons and NDRF, SDRF and Aapda Mitra Team in Kangra.
Then, the Prime Minister will conduct an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas in Punjab around 3 pm. He will arrive at Gurdaspur around 4.15 pm, where he will hold discussions with senior officials and chair a review meeting on the ground situation. He will also interact with flood-affected persons as well as NDRF, SDRF and Aapda Mitra Team in Gurdaspur.
The Prime Minister's direct review is aimed at closely monitoring relief and rehabilitation efforts to support the people of the two states during this difficult time.
The flood situation in Punjab has worsened, with the death toll rising to 51, according to the Department of Information and Public Relations, Punjab.
The heavy monsoon rains over the past week have caused rivers to swell and inundated several districts across the state, leaving thousands affected and prompting large-scale relief operations.
Meanwhile, the ongoing monsoon season in Himachal Pradesh has claimed 370 lives so far, with 205 fatalities linked to rain-related incidents such as landslides, flash floods, cloudbursts, drowning, lightning strikes, electrocution, and other disaster-related causes, and 165 deaths reported in road accidents, according to the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA).
