"Preparations for Chardham Yatra have reached final stage": Uttarakhand DGP Deepam Seth

Speaking to mediapersons, the Uttarakhand DGP said that approximately 6,000 policemen and 17 PAC companies will be deployed for the Yatra.

Haridwar (Uttarakhand) [India], April 29 (ANI): Uttarakhand Director General of Police Deepam Seth on Tuesday assured that all preparations for the Chardham Yatra have reached the final stage.
Speaking to mediapersons, the Uttarakhand DGP said that approximately 6,000 policemen and 17 PAC companies will be deployed for the Yatra.
He further asserted that drones will be used to monitor the situation.
"Preparations for the Chardham Yatra by the police department and all other departments had started long ago and now we have reached the final stage. All our plans have come to fruition. The force has been deployed. About 6000 policemen and 17 PAC companies will be deployed. Apart from this, about 90 CCTV cameras have been installed in all four Dhams, a network of more than 200 CCTV cameras on the Chardham route and more than 300 CCTV cameras have been installed in Haridwar," Uttarakhand DGP said.
"Drones will be used to monitor the situation constantly... Social media is also being closely monitored," he added.
Meanwhile, SSP Dehradun Ajay Singh stated that, following the Chief Minister's instructions to take action against adulterated food items during Uttarakhand's Char Dham Yatra, the Dehradun Police has tightened its grip on the gang, which had been active for a long time.
"Doon Police recovered 720 kg of fake Paneer which came from Saharanpur to be supplied in Char Dham Yatra," Singh said.
The Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has begun preparations for the upcoming Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Dham Yatra. The doors of Shri Badrinath Dham are opening on May 4, and those of Shri Kedarnath Dham on May 2.
The doors of the second Kedar Shri Madmaheshwar temple will open on May 21, and those of the third Kedar, Tungnath ji, on May 2. (ANI)
