Prayagraj gears up for elections; ADM provides details about polling preparations

As the country is going to witness the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections on May 25, ADM, rural administration, Pooja Mishra on Friday provided an update on the polling preparations on Friday. Speaking with ANI, Pooja Mishra said, "There are polling parties of three assembly constituencies- 261, 262 and 263 are being dispatched from here. We have made many signages so that polling parties can reach their assembly constituencies."

Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 24 (ANI): As the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections is going to be held on May 25, ADM, rural administration, Pooja Mishra on Friday provided an update on the polling preparations on Friday.
Speaking with ANI, Pooja Mishra said, "Polling parties of three assembly constituencies, 261, 262 and 263, are being dispatched from here. We have made many signages so that polling parties can reach their assembly constituencies."

She added further, "We have made 20 counters for attendance and 20 counters to take their EVMS and other election materials."
Pooja Mishra also informed about the establishment of medical help desks and said, "We have made medical help desks so that if there are any health-related issues polling parties doctors are available here to treat them. Water tanks and movable toilets are also there in all the dispatch centres. We have also kept ORS packets and medical kits..."
The official also urged people to vote on May 25. "I would also like to request the people that they should cast their vote and play their role in enhancing the strength of democracy," Mishra said.
The Election Commission of India is all geared up for Phase six of the Lok Sabha polls that commences tomorrow.
According to the ECI, polling is scheduled in 58 Parliamentary Constituencies across eight States/Union Territories. Haryana and NCT of Delhi will head to polls in this phase. Bihar, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal are the other States/UTs which will continue with their polls in this phase.
Polling for 42 Assembly Constituencies for the Odisha State Legislative Assembly will also take place simultaneously.
Around 11.4 lakh polling officials will welcome over 11.13 crore voters across 1.14 lakh polling stations.
Over 11.13 crore voters include 5.84 crore male; 5.29 crore female and 5120 third gender electors. There are over 8.93 lakh registered 85+ years old, 23,659 voters above 100 years, and 9.58 lakh PwD voters for Phase 6 who have been provided the option to vote from the comfort of their homes. The optional Home Voting facility is already receiving tremendous appreciation and response. (ANI)
