Pradyuman's father hopes for justice post SC hearing

Gurugram (Haryana) [India], October 30 (ANI): Varun Thakur, father of Pradyuman Thakur who was brutally killed in Gurugram's Ryan International School, said he hopes for justice and a break on such incidents.

After attending the Supreme Court's hearing on his plea filed against the school's owner, Varun said, "I could not understand the legal matters in the court but the Supreme Court will conduct the next hearing into the matter on November 4."

"The court asked the female lawyer to summarise the existing guidelines and compile suggestions for the safety of the students. Add-ons and discussion on the new safety guidelines will be finalised on November 4 and accountability will be taken so that this incident does not happen again in any school of the country," Varun said.

Varun, who on Sunday organised a candlelight march at the Ramlila Maidan, described it as a homage to his son.

"Many people participated in the candle march because they feel connected to this incident as the guardian of a child. We all have high hopes of justice from the SC as well as the CBI who are conducting the investigation," he said.

He was optimistic that justice will be done even though he was not sure about the delay in it.

"I cannot tell the exact time but the way the probe is going on, I hope there will be justice and there will be a stop on such incidents," he said.

On September 8, the body of the class II student Pradyuman was found inside the toilet of the school, with his throat slit.

A bus conductor of the institution was arrested in the incident. (ANI)
