Police recover 200 kg cannabis in Siliguri

Siliguri (West Bengal) [India], Nov 24 (ANI): Police recover 200 kg cannabis or ganja from a vehicle here on Saturday. Police have arrested two people who were present in the vehicle including the owner of the vehicle and the driver.

Seized cannabis

Siliguri (West Bengal) [India], Nov 24 (ANI): Police recover 200 kg cannabis or ganja from a vehicle here on Saturday. Police have arrested two people who were present in the vehicle including the owner of the vehicle and the driver.
The accused have been identified as Pardeshi Singh and Milan Tanti. Singh was the owner of the seized cannabis and the vehicle, while Tanti was the driver of the vehicle. Singh is a resident of Nagaon district in Assam.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985 and the investigation is underway.
The police received a tip-off earlier in the morning that helped them seize the vehicle. The arrested persons have been placed for remand to secure the arrest of the associates as the Detective Department of the Siliguri Metropolitan Police has claimed that they are part of a big racket. (ANI)
