Kishtwar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Feb 21 (ANI): The security forces on Wednesday recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from Kesna Forest area of Kishtwar region in Jammu and Kashmir.

In the joint operation conducted by RR battalion of Kishtwar and Jammu and Kashmir Police, two AK-56 Rifle, three 9mm Pistol, one Country made Pistol, 15 Magazines of AK-56 Rifle, 98 rounds of Pika, two rounds of UBGL, one round of RPG, two Binoculars, 12 detonators and two Radio Sets were recovered.

On the basis of a specific information, army and police launched a search operation in Kesna Forest area of Kishtwar region and recovered arms and ammunition from a hideout on Wednesday afternoon, read an official note.

The security forces cordoned off the area and carried out a meticulous search during, which they succeeded in locating the hideout of terrorists, which was used during the peak of militancy for sustenance. The security forces are continuing with their persistent operations for safety and security of Kishtwar district," it added. (ANI)
